Valley Vocational Academy was founded by nurses who have a passion for education and healthcare. Not satisfied with the current educational options in the market, VVA was created by nurses to focus on the fundamentals of nursing and to maintain the high caliber of instruction and academic integrity that every Nursing Assistant deserves. Nurses know what Nursing Assistants need and they have the knowledge and experience to share that knowledge with their students. Let us show you how beginning a career in healthcare is within your reach.
Leigh Anne has been a Registered Nurse since 1994 and graduated with a Bachelors of Science in Nursing from the University of Louisville in Kentucky. Leigh Anne began her health career working as a Nursing Assistant as she completed her degree in nursing. Upon graduating, she moved to Northern California and began her nursing career in home health. Leigh Anne worked as a Registered Nurse Case Manager, leading a multi-disciplinary team. Leigh Anne was fortunate to be able to work with patients ranging in age from the very young to the very old. Patient and family education was a very large part of this position. After moving to Arizona, Leigh Anne stepped out of the health care field to spend more time with her family. In 2008, she returned to the field and began teaching at Arizona Medical Training Institute in Mesa, Arizona. This program grew very quickly, and eventually Leigh Anne was promoted to the Director of Nursing Programs in charge of the CNA program, EKG program, and the Patient Care Technician program. During this time, Leigh Anne was honored to be a finalist for the Phoenix Business Journal’s “Health Care Hero”. Wanting to explore new opportunities and create quality programs to help students begin their career in health care, Leigh Anne collaborated with a former co-worker to create Valley Vocational Academy, LLC.
